First oils

Well, in the fall of 1990 I decided to take an adult night course in a local high school for
oil painting partly because I wanted to see if I could do it and I also thought it
might be a way to get some dates. Well, no dates but it did teach me what the tools
were for and how to mix colors from primary colors. The other thing that it taught me
was that there was no right way to paint. You just did it and if it came
out Ok, great! If not, then try some other method. The 4 paintings were
the result of my night course. It was fun enough but I had other things that I
wanted to do with my time so I packed the brushes and paints
away and didn't use them again until 14 years later when
my late wife urged me to try them again.
